Siren-Challenged Drivers

View this short video clip that I recorded on Wednesday evening at Oxford/Adelaide.

Believe me, the siren was much louder in the crisp winter air than what it sounds like in the video. So, why did so many drivers insist on going through the intersection instead of yielding to the fire truck?

Should emergency vehicles have the capability of controlling signalized intersections in advance of getting there?

One Response to “Siren-Challenged Drivers”

“Challenged drivers” period. What’s with snow and ice that makes drivers go faster? They slide right through stop signs and pedestrian crosswalks (called “pelican crossings” in England), completely cut off corners when turning left into junctions and block sidewalks when parking on driveways.
