Police Release – EMDC Program

On Wednesday January 28, 2009 at 10:45 a.m the London, Elgin and Middlesex Crime Stoppers Program will be having a press conference at the main entrance to the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre located at 711 Exeter Road in London. This is regarding a new initiative that is intended to raise awareness of Crime Stoppers at the institution and hopefully increase the number of tips received by the program. This initiative involves the donation of a number of Crime Stoppers promotional items to the EMDC, such as basketballs, logos for the basketball back boards, playing cards, pencils posters, writing paper and will be ongoing in nature. This initiative is the first of its kind in Ontario and has generated interest province wide since the inception of the idea.

There will be senior representatives present from the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre, Crime Stoppers Executive Board, as well as program coordinators from the London Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police. These representatives will have a brief statement to explain the initiative and will then be available for questions and interviews.

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization that raises money through public and corporate donations to fund their initiatives and promotional programs.
