Police Release – Suspicious Death

London Police continue to investigate a suspicious death in the area of Dundas Street at First Street shortly before 6 am on Tuesday April 14 2009. As a result, motorists are advised that Dundas Street between First Street and Hale Street is closed down. The investigation is still in its early stages and more information will be provided when available.

On Tuesday April 14, 2009 at 5:44 AM London Police were dispatched to Dundas Street east of Hale Street following the report of a body at the side of the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male on the south side of the roadway just off the curb. The deceased has not yet been identified. He is described as male, black, with a slim build, 25-30years of age with short dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and black running shoes. The cause of death is not clear at this time although there are indications of trauma to the body. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for today at London Health Sciences Centre. Dundas Street will remain closed between Hale and First Street for several hours. Investigators continue to examine the scene for evidence and canvass area business for events that may have been captured on security video. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who was in the area of Dundas Street between Hale St and First Street in the early morning hours to contact police at 661-5670 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the deceased male who was discovered on Dundas Street east of Hale Street shortly before 6:00 am this morning. Investigators have identified the deceased as Glen Michael Isaac, 23 years of age, of London. The post-mortem examination on the deceased will continue tomorrow at London Health Sciences Centre. Investigators are attempting to locate Glen Isaac’s vehicle which is described as a 2004 grey, 4-door, Chevrolet Impala, bearing Ontario licence plate BEHT 376. Anyone who has had recent contact with Glen Isaac, has information about the circumstances of his death, or knows the whereabouts of his vehicle are urged to contact police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers.

Acting on information from a member of the public, police have located the Chevrolet Impala, bearing Ontario licence plate BEHT 376, which was owned by Glen Isaac who was found deceased on April 14, 2009. The vehicle will be examined for evidence that may shed light on Mr. Isaac’s final movements or the circumstances that lead to his death. Investigators would still like to speak to members of the public who have knowledge of Mr. Isaac’s activities in the early morning hours of April 14, or who witnessed any unusual activity in the area of Dundas and Hale between the hours of 5:00 am and 6:00 am on April 14. At this time, the cause of the deceased’s injuries is not clear and police are considering a number of possibilities. Investigators are also interested in speaking with members of the public who are aware of vehicles that have recent unexplained or suspicious damage, in particular, broken glass. The post-mortem examination on Glen Isaac is complete. The cause of death has
been determined to be head trauma. The circumstances of Glen Isaac’s death
are still under investigation. Investigators continue to appeal to members of
the public who have knowledge of this incident to contact police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers.

London Police continue to investigate the death of Glen Isaac that occurred on April 14 on Dundas St near Hale Street. On April 15, as a result of information from a member of the public, police located the deceased’s vehicle. As a result of further information from a citizen, investigators have recovered a second vehicle that was involved in the incident under investigation. That vehicle is being examined by forensic identification officers. Investigators wish to thank the public for their assistance in locating these vehicles. The investigation into this incident continues.

AM980News reported via Twitter last night that “London Police have recovered a second vehicle they say was involved in this week’s “suspicious death” of 23-year old on Dundas near Hale.” However, FMBS has not yet received a news release or any other form of confirmation of that from LPS.

Regarding the death of Glen Isaac, members of the London Police Service have arrested Jean LaFontaine, 43 years of no fixed address. Investigation by members of the Major Crime Section revealed that the two men were involved in an altercation, which was followed by LaFontaine driving away in a motor vehicle. Isaac was subsequently killed as a result of contact with that motor vehicle. LaFontaine has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Fail to remain at the scene of an accident and disqualified driving. Lafontaine will be appearing in court today.
