Police Release – Charges Under New Suspension Rules

The new “three day” licence suspension was used for the first time in London this weekend. In fact three of the suspensions were doled out to motorists caught in the “warn” range BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). In addition to the suspensions, London Police also arrested five motorists for impaired driving. Sadly most were notable for one reason or another: A 19 yr old male mounted the sidewalk and was involved in a collision. He blew 3 X the legal limit. A 24yr old female pulled over by police for suspicion on impaired driving put her car accidently into reverse and reversed into the officer’s cruiser; A 48 yr old male operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle licence and while speeding down Dundas Street on Saturday afternoon was stopped for speeding and found to be impaired by alcohol. He was over 2X the legal limit.

As the better weather comes more and more pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and cars take part in enjoying London roadways. Make them safe for everyone….Turn in an Impaired Driver!
