Spike Belt Deployed in East End

A London Police Service media release:
On Tuesday September 22 2009 shortly after 2 am an officer observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Egerton Street and Hamilton Road. There was a pursuit that proceeded to the area of Dundas Street and Highbury Avenue at which point the stolen vehicle drove over a spike belt. The vehicle came to a stop at First Street and Dundas Street where the female driver and male passenger fled on foot. K9 arrested the female within a short distance from the vehicle and after a lengthy track by K9 the male was arrested at the rear of a Calendon Drive residence.

A 13 year old female of London and a 15 year old male of London are charged with possession of stolen property.

The 13 year old female is additionally charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for Police and breaching a recognizance.
