LEDC Is #4
Last year, Site Selection Magazine ranked LEDC #8 out of all the comparable organizations across Canada. This year they’ve been ranked #4.
An award was presented to them at Monday’s Council meeting.
This is what Peter White had to say:
This is for us a great award because it ranks us in the top of all the EDCs across Canada. The only communities ahead of us are Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. And what it did is it recognized a number of different elements. One was the amount of success that we’ve had, the number of companies that we were working with, and as well this year it started looking at activities also around web and around presence. And one of the things that helped us was all of the various promotional activities that London has been doing as well. And we were recognized also for being one of the first Economic Development Offices for doing social media and well as for multi-language websites.

It seems that LEDC is on a social media roll. According to a news release on it’s website, the organization has been recognized for “progressive online marketing initiatives to attract new investment” using “various Web 2.0 tools.”
