A London Police Service media release:

The 2009 Santa Claus Parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday evening November 14thstarting at 6:00pm.

The route will once again proceed westerly along Dundas Street starting at Egerton Street.

THIS YEAR: To allow the parade floats to organize and form up, police will close Dundas Street between Highbury Ave and Egerton Street starting at 4 pm.

Major intersections and traffic flow both north and south along the parade route and east / west along the rest of Dundas Street will be remain open as long as possible.

Intersections will be shut down progressively westbound from Dundas and Kellogg Lane just prior to the beginning of the parade and depending on the size of the crowd.

For example the parade commences at 6:00pm, intersections along Dundas Street from the start to Adelaide Street will likely be blocked by 5:45pm.

The parade will last approximately 2hrs concluding at Ridout Street at approx. 8:00-8:30pm.

Motorist not coming to the downtown area for the parade should make arrangements to avoid the area at this time or alter parking arrangements. Leave early. King and Queen Streets will remain open during the parade.

At one point during the parade it is anticipated that all north/south access across Dundas Street will be simultaneously blocked between Ridout Street and Egerton/Quebec Street at the same time. This may be for 15 min until the rear of the parade moves west from the starting point.
