LTC Media Release
To: All News /Public Service Directors
From: London Transit Commission
Date: Friday, November 20, 2009
Subject: LTC Labour IssuesAs of today, November 20, 2009 at 3:30 p.m., the London Transit Commission has not received a response to the November 17, 2009 request for a written confirmation of any revised proposal from the ATU Local 741. Further, the London Transit Commission has not received a revised formal position through the provincial mediator.
As previously communicated, until such time as a revised written proposal or a formalized position through the mediator is received that can be assessed by the Commission, the last proposal on record from the ATU Local 741 stands at a 20.1% increase in wages and benefits.
The Commission strongly believes that any and all mediation discussion should take place in confidence between the parties. As such, until such time as a revised formal position is received that warrants the restart of mediation talks, no further comment with respect to the process will be provided by London Transit to the media.
The Commission apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this service disruption and remains committed to reaching a fair and reasonable agreement.
