Two Impaired Drivers, One Vehicle
A London Police Service media release:
On the eve of what normally is considered to be the launch of the Festive RIDE season, London Police charged two people with impaired driving for driving the same vehicle.
The incident started at approximately 2:00am when officers were sent to a downtown bar after a male patron was seen driving a car through the parking lot striking parked cars as he tried to exit the lot. Witnesses got a good description of the male driver and provided the plate number to police.
At approximately 2:35am officers were in the area of Becher Street and Perry Street when the same vehicle came to their attention, this time being driven by a female. The vehicle was followed to an address and when the female driver was spoken to she was arrested for impaired driving. At this time the male responsible for the hit and run collisions on the parking lot was a passenger in the car and he too was found to be impaired by alcohol and he was arrested for impaired driving as well. It turned out this male had been arrested and charged with impaired driving on Nov 7th as well. (two weeks earlier).
As a result of the incident a 19 yr old female has been charged with an impaired driving offence and a 27 year old male has been charged with an impaired driving offence and a number of other criminal offences including hit and run and breach of conditions.
