November 27, 2009FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Downtown London, the Old East Village Business Improvement Association, the Richmond Row Merchant’s Association and the City of London are pleased to announce free parking on-street at select meters during the month of December.
Londoners shopping in the downtown core, along Richmond Row and at nearby shops, and in the Old East shopping district between Rectory and Adelaide will be able to take advantage of free parking at meters detailed with a “notice” in place of typical rate and time information. This notice, found inside the meter on the display panel, will read Free Parking – Courtesy of the City of London.
“The City of London is offering Londoners a break on parking fees during the holiday season,” says Shane Maguire, Division Manager of Parking and Traffic Signals. “Over 1,200 of our meters are free, so be sure to look for the specially marked ones.”
“London’s downtown shopping experience is thriving this holiday season,” says Janette MacDonald, Manager of Downtown London. “We offer a wide range of unique shops with one-of-a-kind items you’ll not find anywhere else, and with free parking during the month of December, there’s never been a better time to come downtown.”
