Stuff My Stocking With Sugru
As long as I’m in a DIY kind of a mood and stumbling across all kinds of neat things, here’s another one that I’ll bring to your attention – silly putty.
Well, it’s sort of like silly putty.
They call it sugru and Jane says, “I don’t want to buy new stuff all the time. I want to hack the stuff I already have so it works better for me.”
This stuff looks like it’d make a really great Christmas stocking stuffer!
You’ve got about 30 minutes to mold the silicon modeling clay after you take it out of the package. After that it starts to harden and form a strong (but flexible) bond to things like aluminum, ceramics, glass and steel.
I could provide you with a couple of examples of how to use the stuff, but I think you’re further ahead to check out the sugru blog where there’s lots of descriptions, complete with photos.
BTW, if you’re reading this because you subscribe to the FMBS Twitter feed, then you’ll be happy to know that the creators of this product are smart enough to have one too. You can follow them at @projectsugru.
