Dangerous Operation of Vehicle
A London Police Service media release:
On Saturday December 12 2009 at approximately 11:28 am an officer observed a vehicle with stolen licence plates driving in the area of Pondmills Road and Banbury Road and other officers were called in to assist. When the vehicle came to a stop at a red light at Deveron Road at Commissioners Road officers from the Criminal Investigation Division attempted to box in the vehicle.
A Criminal Investigation Division officer in plain clothes wearing clothing marked with “Police” exited his vehicle and approached the vehicle. The vehicle’s tires began to accelerate rapidly and the car lurched backwards striking the officer on the side of his body causing him to go back approximately 2-3 feet. The driver was arrested.
The officer received non life threatening injuries.
The front and rear licence plates were stolen from two different motor vehicles early in December 2009.
Alin Baho 20 years of London is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of stolen property under $5000.
