Vehicle B&E’s in Masonville

A London Police Service media release:

On Monday December 14 2009 at 3:08 pm Police were called to the parking lot of Masonville Mall located at 1680 Richmond Street regarding suspicious males breaking into vehicles, then observed leaving in a car. Police located the suspects in a vehicle in a parking lot located at 50 North Centre Road and attempted to stop them.

The male driver and the male passenger fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the male driver was arrested. The male passenger, described as being between the age of 20 and 25 yrs old fled eastbound.

The car the males fled from, a 1996 Toyota Corolla, was reported stolen on October 21 2009 from Mayfair Drive near Richmond Street. The vehicle was secured prior to being stolen, although a spare set of keys had been left inside of the vehicle.

Tyler Grootjen, 22 years of London is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.
