Christmas Tree Depots

January 2, 2010 to January 8, 2010.

From the City of London website:

Before bringing your tree to a depot, Londoners are asked to:

  • Remove all decorations, including tinsel and garland, as these materials present a safety hazard for staff operating the chipping machines
  • If disposing of other holiday evergreens (cedar rope, wreaths, etc.) ensure that all metal and other materials are removed
  • At the depot, please remove plastic bags used to transport the tree and take them home to dispose of or reuse
  • PLEASE REMOVE ALL METAL. Metal presents a safety hazard to staff operating chipping equipment, can result in damage to equipment and cannot be composted.

The following six depots will be open from January 2 to January 8:

  • South: Amway Global – Exeter Road, west end of front parking lot; Mitches Park – Upper Queens Avenue parking lot.
  • East: Stronach Park – parking lot on Beckworth Avenue.
  • West: Springbank Park – west entrance parking lot by Boler Road.
  • Central: St. Julien Works Yard – south end of St. Julien Street.
  • North: Masonville Mall – northwest parking lot, by Nash Jewellers.

The City of London and its partners Try Recycling, Amway Global and the London Food Bank are working together to keep London green.
