One Response to “Kipps Lane Stabbing”

  • It Never Ends – 1 1/2 Months Shy of the Gruesome Valentines Day Stabbing-Murder on Kipps Lane in 2009, another Vicious Stabbing Occurs on Kipps Lane

$184,500 has been allocated in the 2010 budget for the Kipps Lane Initiative. If the money is spent like last year there will be plenty of feel good initiatives and no direct projects with the LPS to get at one of the core reasons for the decades of rot on Kipps Lane. That being a culture of crime that is so pervasive that incidents like this go unnoticed as commonplace. Most people I know on Kipps Lane would leave if they could afford the move. My fear is that there are many similar neighbourhoods in London that are in desperate need of Police work first and social work second. Sadly, all that Community services throws at them are expensive “feel good initiatives” that make good newspaper copy and quick play on the evening news.

Latest Bill on the Kipps Lane Initiative if 2010 Budget approved = $584,500 for a program that was supposed to end at the end of 2008 and has participation of only 1% of population of area it serves. That’ll change shake things up in there.
