W3: The Thought Bubble

When I wrote Sunday’s post about Chadwick Pages I mentioned that I found out about the site while browsing NaBloPoMo. But what I forgot to mention is that this month’s NaBloPoMo theme is TIES. You can read what I had to say about that HERE. Which will help to explain why I visited NaBloPoMo again already and why I’m reviewing another of the blogs that I learned about there.

The first post that I saw when I visited The Thought Bubble was, strangely enough, the one that was on the top of the home page. It consists of a couple of quotations about friendship and the author’s thoughts on the subject.

My initial reaction was that the quotations must be “thought bubbles” even though they’re in rectangular text boxes rather than those graphical bubble things you often see in cartoons, and that the blog posts always follow that same format. But then I explored some of the older posts and discovered that that’s not the case. Or at least, it doesn’t seem to be.

So now I’m left wondering, what’s behind the blog’s name?

The ‘About’ page reveals a bit about the author but it doesn’t address my question. So, what to do? Keep on wondering? Check out some of the other sources of info that are listed on the ‘Contact Me’ page (and run the risk of feeling like a stalker)?

For now, I think I’ll simply wait to see if she gets notified about this post via a linkback and decides to volunteer the answer via a comment to this post (which has turned out to be a very strange one).

    Hello Greg!

Firstly, thanks for visiting my little blog and for taking the time to actually write a post about it. Although it’s classed as a review, you don’t say whether you like it…I hope you do :)

Now, as to the name. The original name of the blog was ‘A Thought Bubble or Two…’ but as time went on, I started referring to it as ‘The Thought Bubble’ for speed of typing, and so it became.

The origin? It’s kind of a play on a couple of things, I guess. My pseudonym is bubbleboo – owing to some embarrassing childhood nicknames which kind of stuck! As the blog is a non-specific general mish-mash of my random day-to-day thoughts, I liken my posts to individual ‘thought bubbles’, rather than belonging to an ongoing theme. The fact that this ties in with my pseudonym quite neatly means that is what became the title of the blog. It also makes me fairly easy to find for my friends around the internet!

So, the name is about the concept, rather than the look of the blog! I hope that helps…and I hope you visit again sometime :D
