79 y.o. Charged after Pedestrian Struck

Police are currently investigating a serious collision involving a pedestrian struck that occurred on Monday February 8 2010 at 9:05 am at Viscount Road at Wonderland Road South. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Further details will be made provided when available. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic Reconstruction Team is attending and the entire intersection at Viscount Road at Wonderland Road South is currently closed for the investigation. We are asking motorists to avoid that area and make alternative routes to their destinations.
The entire intersection is now open for traffic. The investigation is still ongoing.
A northbound car on Wonderland Road South, struck a pedestrian crossing Wonderland Road South within the cross walk area, south of the intersection edge. The car then struck a passing eastbound LTC bus. The 12 year old female pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is currently in critical condition. The injuries of the 12 year old female do not appear to be life threatening at this time. The male driver of the car was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.
A 79 year old male of London is charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Careless Driving.
