Although I very much appreciate the efforts being made by local groups to influence a reduction in the use of plastic bags, I resent the continued dishonesty about the origin of local advocacy.
Until I announced my proposal for a PlasTax as part of my municipal election campaign, there was no public mention locally about this important issue. Following the publication of that platform on my election website, Monica Jarabek subsequently announced a similar position.
I trust that you will want to do the honorable thing, and set the record straight.
