Siren-Challenged Drivers

View this short video clip that I recorded on Wednesday evening at Oxford/Adelaide.

Believe me, the siren was much louder in the crisp winter air than what it sounds like in the video. So, why did so many drivers insist on going through the intersection instead of yielding to the fire truck?

Should emergency vehicles have the capability of controlling signalized intersections in advance of getting there?

Canoeist Should be Billed

One of yesterday’s LFP stories (”Canoeist Rescued…”; London Free Press; 008/12/29) described the rescue of an Ingersoll man from the frigid waters of the Thames River “just east of Dorchester…past the Putnam bridge.”
