On Wednesday March 4 2009 at 12:26 pm a London Police officer was on duty at the London Airport when he was advised of a male walking on the Airport runway in an unauthorized area to the public. Chief Faulkner’s 2009/03 Update

The overall crime rate in London decreased by 2% last year, something that our Police Chief calls “very positive.”

There were 2,427 reported assaults in 2008, which is a 1% increase over 2007. According to the police Chief, “We’ve seen assaults over the last number of years having a slowly increase in numbers.”

There were 288 reported robberies in the city in 2008, which is a 4% increase over 2007.

Police Release – Drug Warrant

On Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at approximately 5:00am, members of the London Police Service Emergency Response Unit, along with the Guns and Drugs Unit, executed a search warrant at 32-1481 Limberlost Road.  Inside the residence, 4 adults were arrested, and a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia was located.  The total value of drugs seized was $420.

Police Release – Robbery

On Monday, December 15, 2008, at approximately 11:20pm, the London Police Service responded to a robbery at the Hamilton Road Mini-Mart, located at 1161 Hamilton Road. Two men entered the store, one of whom was holding a handgun. The suspects forced the 21 year old male clerk to the floor and assaulted him by striking him on the head with the gun.
