Does Councillor Usher have a problem with transparency?
After risking arrest over the right to record a public meeting in order to be able to inform you, I’ve been understandably anxious to receive this proposed policy.
The City received comments about substandard rental housing conditions at an initial March 2008 open house. A subsequent public open house was held in October of 2008. As a result, the City is now proposing a strategy and a licensing by-law to address the issue, and Planning Committee has scheduled this public participation meeting at Centennial Hall in order to hear comments about the proposal.
