Proposed Methane Gas Facility Calls For Answers

Agenda item #11 at today’s Planning Committee is a public participation meeting with respect to a proposal that the zoning of the property located at 8 Cuddy Boulevard be changed in order to permit the construction and operation of a Bio-Gas Energy Generation Facility. That’s a place that will accept organics and will produce methane gas from it’s decomposition, in order to generate electricity to the province’s electrical grid.

While I am supportive of this kind of operation from a “green” perspective, that support does come with some qualifications. Continue Reading

Liquid Waste Treatment Facility

London is examining how best to deal with hauled liquid waste. And although the preferred solution appears to be a leachate pre-treatment facility adjacent to the W12A Landfill, there is a lack of consensus about proper procedure.
